sphinx 1.7.2 documentation can't search

Unless I s/@name/name/ in /usr/share/doc/python-paste/docs/_static/searchtools.js (ubuntu 9.10 here).

There is a syntax error in jquery unless I remove the "@", after doing it search works like a charm...
